Tessa's Update - June 11, 2007
Hi every one!!
I got my cast off my leg and now I can sleep spread out like puppies do! I still have to be totally confined as I can't stand up or walk yet. I am getting bored being cooped up, but they tell me it is for my own good. The cast was supposed to stay in longer, but my joints were getting too stiff and they were afraid I may not have movement if they kept it longer. So now I have to be more careful not to get up and try to walk, as my hip and leg are not ready for it yet. It is not easy for me, as I am just a puppy and don't realize that I can't do this. My foster Mommy gets all upset when I try to stand up and she runs to me and says "Oh Tessa please don't do that honey or you will never get better", doesn't she understand I am just a puppy and want to play? Oh well, I know she loves me and wants the best for me. I still have a long road ahead of me, with potentially more surgery and soon I will be starting physical therapy. I started waging my tail, and every one was very happy about that, it is broken and this is a good sign. I am still and having problems with the anal tone, but the Vet thinks I will start getting better with that soon.
Thank you all for your prayers and support, we are still very short on funds to take care of all my medical problems and they also just got another very sick baby Ryan and he is very expensive too. We are both so lucky that Pugs 'N Pals took us in and care for us so much. Please help them with a donation if possible as they are really working hard at trying to make both of our lives normal.
Thank you and talk to you soon!
Love Tessa
Tessa's Update - May 20, 2007
Hi every one!!
It has been a rough week. I had surgery on one hip and on my badly broken leg. Though I look sad here, I am a very happy girl and give lots of kisses. Just that I still hurt a lot. I have been on pain meds. via IV for the last week. Had some problems with vomiting as the meds, made my tummy very upset. I have several bruised organs, and lots of internal bruising in general, so the pain is pretty bad. But the nice Drs. are doing a great job at keeping me comfortable. I still need several more surgeries before I can start mending, but the prognosis right now is pretty good. I was supposed to go home to my foster Mommy on Friday, but I had a set back and had to stay in the hospital for the weekend. I got a Ceroma, which is pocket near my incision that kept building up fluid and it had to be drained many times a day and also lost some anal tone and they wanted to make sure that would start improving. I am hoping they will release me on Monday, so my foster Mommy can take care of me and give me lots of love, so I can heal faster.
I want to thank you all for your financial support and prayers. You are all wonderful. Though we raised close to $3,000, we have a long ways to go to cover my medical needs, especially with the few set backs I have had. SO PLEASE if you can send a tax deductible donation to Tessa's Fund. I REALLY need your help. The people at Pugs 'N Pals are wonderful and allowing me to have the best care possible. Thank you and I will talk to you soon!
With much Love
